Ramadaniyat 17: How to Avoid Constipation in Ramadan! – Easy and Simple Recipes to Get Rid of Constipation

Try to avoid excessive eating during the holy month of Ramadan because being extravagant in anything means sharing the devil even if it is in eating and drinking.

As the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Eat, drink, dress and give in charity without extravagance or arrogance.” (Bukhari)

Excessive eating can cause many health problems, including constipation. Also, a change in eating routine may lead to constipation. To avoid this, make sure to eat plenty of fiber-containing plants such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds.

Try to avoid eating a large amount of sugar, fats, and refined foods. Make sure to drink enough water, and try to exercise and have a bit of physical activity during the day.

Drinking plenty of water and exercising helps get rid of constipation. Also, drinking herbal tea, such as anise tea or cumin after eating helps to expel gases and get rid of stomach aches. Or eat a soup containing vegetables and oats, which acts fast to fight constipation. Oats contains a large amount of soluble fiber.

 

 

Some drinks and herbal teas that are found in almost every home, which help soften the bowels and get rid of constipation:

 

Water and lemon juice: Add to one lemon juice to a cup of warm water and drink it after eating.

Anise tea: Boil a tablespoon of anise in a cup of water and then drain and drink it after eating.

Cumin tea: Boil a tablespoon of cumin in a liter of water for three minutes. Drink a cup before the suhoor meal.

Coffee: Drinking one cup of coffee after food helps some people get rid of constipation.
