Ramdaniyat 22: Salt, Good and Bad – Seasoning Mix Recipe, Reduce Craving for Salt

Salt plays an important role in the regulation of fluids in the body and in regulating the functioning of the digestive system and has other health benefits. But too much salt intake also causes many health problems.

It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) in his fatal illness came out. He sat on the pulpit, and praising and glorifying Allah, he said, “Now then, people will increase but the Ansar will decrease in number, so much so that they, compared with the people, will be just like the salt in the! meals”.

Meaning, the number of believers would increase, but the number of Helpers would decrease to the extent that they would be among men as salt in the food, as salt is a very small amount among the food. We should control the amount of salt in our diet because if it exceeds the limit or lacks it makes damage to the body.

In order for you and your family to enjoy good health, use salt in moderation in your Ramadan dishes. Therefore, it is recommended to reduce the use of salt and compensate with herbs and spices to give more flavor and good taste to your meals. It is also advisable to use natural salts such as pink Himalayan salt or sea salt instead of using commercial table salt that has been processed, bleached, filtered and stripped out of minerals.
